Something For Rockets Initiate Launch Sequence Alpha

Following a stint in NYC for CMJ, Los Angeles-based, hard-to-categorize trio-turned-quartet Something For Rockets kicked off a cross-country tour over the weekend in Philly. Their next stop will be tomorrow night at the Blind Pig in Ann Arbor, MI, on their way to some larger Midwestern cities like Chicago, Indy, and Minneapolis.

SFR, as their fans call them, began as Rami Perlman, Josh Eichenbaum and Barry Davis. However, as alluded to earlier, as of a few months ago former Phantom Planet axeman Jacques Brautbar has joined up with the band to handle bass duties. Apparently, Jacques quit Phantom Planet to pursue his life-long dream of becoming a photographer, but after meeting, hanging out with, and jamming with the SFR guys, he changed his mind. Now as a quartet, the band are still searching for that ever-elusive high profile record deal that will help them bring their rock meets disco meets R&B meets soul music to the masses. If their quirky live show is any indication, that deal should be just around the corner. Check out the tour dates below.
