It’s been wild for us to watch the life that MIA’s “Galang” has had as a single, from the import Showbiz 12″ that first got us sprung over a year ago, to the official release that got computers ‘putin worldwide, to the latest “Galang 05″ that’s now scoring Honda Civic adverts. Serj of SOAD’s rock remix and Dave Kelly/Baby Cham’s dancehall take on “Galang 05″ are just starting to make their way to stores, airwaves and internets near you – but apparently it doesn’t stop there, either. We just read about a hip-hop mix by Joell Ortiz (and producer DJ Emz), hit dude up for a copy, and have been bumping his “white tee, Yankee fitted” BKLYN version of “Galang” all day. Think a bashment “Oochie Wally” with a hungry, mixtape flow – it’s fire, and hopefully you will be able to check it alongside all the other versions soon.
