Last Friday, as I was trying my best to make it through the giant stack of CDs I received last week, I came across a CD from The Infadels. The CD contained a total of five tracks and was, in fact, a "sampler" with all five songs coming from the band's debut full length. Seeing the logo for UK hit-making label Wall Of Sound (Royksopp, The Bees, etc) on the cover was enough for me. I popped it in and was more than pleasantly surprised with what I heard. The first track, "Jagger '67", which I found out later to be the first single, was instantly exciting. Perfectly post-punk, it blended punk, electronic and rock elements into a danceable amalgam of party-starting, ass-shaking goodness. The rest of the tracks followed suit... (think Sneaker Pimps, LCD Soundsystem, Kasabian, etc.)
Doing some research, I found out that The Infadels won the UK's Diesel U Music prize last year and have since been touring all over Europe. Their debut album, We Are Not The Infadels, isn't slated for release until 2006, but the band is headed over to the States to play a series of NYC shows this week and next. Details are below. The time listed is the time the band goes on stage.

10.22.05 - Avalon - 11:30PM
