Quirky veteran rock & roll outfit The Presidents Of The United States Of America (PUSA), will be releasing their most recent album, Love Everybody, on the continent of Australia this month to coincide with a down under tour. In support of both of these, the band recorded a brand new video for their single, "Some Postman". Normally this wouldn't be big news, but this video is different.
Yes, this video was shot in one day using entirely Sony Ericsson mobile video phones, then sent via bluetooth to a Mac, where the basic edit of the video was composed. The director, Grant Marshall from Film Headquarters, actually came up with the idea 18 months ago but couldn't find a band willing to take the risk... until PUSA agreed.
Because the phones couldn't handle the quick movements, PUSA performed most of the video at half-speed to prevent it from being blocky and compressed. Is this the future of video making as we know it...? A really awesome commercial for Sony Ericsson? You be the judge. The video can be downloaded here (Panopticist.com).
