You remember The Sounds, don't you? They're the Swedish band with an uber-hot frontwoman named Maja Ivarsson who burst onto the scene in 2003 with an '80s-inspired debut album and a live that show that turned out the youth of America en masse. Well now, after extensive touring and substantial sales of their debut, Living In America, The Sounds are back and from what I've heard, they're poised to take their shit to the next level. The probable first single, "Song With A Mission", from their yet-to-be-titled, Jeff Saltzman-produced new album is a radio-ready hit that's currently being played for select tastemaker radio programmers across the nation.
The new album is set for release in March through New Line Records, but the band has made a trip to the US for a select series of shows in San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York City in order to preview some of the new material for a group of lucky fans. The details for these shows are listed below.
11.10.05 - San Francisco, CA (Popscene)
11.12.05 - Los Angeles, CA (Element)
11.17.05 - New York, NY (Hiro Ballroom)
If you're a fan and not in one of these markets, fear not, The Sounds will be back soon to rock your socks off with a full tour in support of the new album in '06.
