Toronto no-wave dance/rock five-piece Controller.Controller have quite a busy 2006 ahead of them. By the end of March, they will have toured Canada with Hot Hot Heat, released their sophomore album in the US and toured America extensively in support of that release. Before I get into those details, however, I should warn all of the NYC residents that before the '06 insanity begins for the band, Controller.Controller will be spending three nights in the Big Apple, playing a different venue each night.
Previewing material from their forthcoming album, X-Amounts, which is due out on March 7 via Canadian indie Paper Pag Records, Controller.Controller will make stops at CakeShop, Lit, and Pianos on December 6, 7 and 8, respectively. They will be playing each show with PBR's latest signing, No Dynamics, who are said to be a Dungen-esque rock band. New Yorkers, you should definitely make a point to check out at least one of these shows. Controller.Controller are engaging live performers that bring a non-stop onslaught of ass-shaking, dual-guitar wielding rock & roll goodness to the table that will definitely be worth the price of admission.
So let's get into the deets of the band's plans for '06, shall we? They have been confirmed to tour their native Canada with Hot Hot Heat beginning in January of '06. The band will then follow that up with a full fledged US tour in support of X-Amounts in Feb/March that will include a stop in Austin for SXSW. The route is just getting planned now, but I'll be sure to hook you all up with the details as soon as they're solidified.
