Singer George Michael announced yesterday afternoon that he and his longtime partner, Kenny Goss, are planning on officially becoming one. The couple decided to do so after the UK’s new legislation offering gays many of the same legal protections as man/woman marriages. The new law becomes active December 21 and the couple plans a small and private ceremony.
George Michael commented to AP News at a screening of a documentary about his career. "I'm sure Kenny (Goss) and I will be doing the old legal thing, but we won't be doing the whole veil and gown thing. It'll be relatively soon after it comes in, probably early next year. I'm not very romantic about it to be honest, I think Kenny probably would be if I let him, but it's just not me. We want to do it, just in case. You never know, I could get hit by a bus and the poor man could have nothing."
As with all weddings people tend to give advice to the recently married couple. We would like to do the same for George and his partner. Don’t honeymoon in a public restroom. In all seriousness though, we wish George and Kenny the best in life and love.
