Coldplay To Perform On Austin City Limits This Saturday

Coldplay fans should get their Tivos warmed up and ready, or if you are old-school like me get a blank VHS tape ready to rock, as Chris Martin & Co. are taking the stage on the Austin City Limits television program. Airing on PBS this Saturday, December 17, the performance features songs of both old and new.

REM’s Michael Stipe joined the band on stage for two songs, helping out with “In The Sun” and “Nightswimming”. Another interesting musical moment was Coldplay’s cover of Johnny Cash’s “Ring Of Fire”, which they performed after “Til Kingdom Come”, a tune they penned in honor of the Man In Black.

Speaking about appearing on the program, Chris Martin said: “It’s a tremendous honor to play Austin City Limits, one of the grandest music showcases anywhere in the world. It’s a humbling experience knowing that we’re sharing the same stage as performers like Johnny Cash and Neil Young who have had such a big influence on us as a band.”
