"It Fit When I Was A Kid"

It would have been easy for The Liars to try and ride the wave of popularity after Aussie lead singer, Angus Andrew, dated Yeah Yeah Yeah's Karen O, propelling them to New York indie rock royalty. Instead, they kept the focus on their music. "It Fit When I was a Kid" is the first and most appropriate single off their upcoming Drum's Not Dead album. The sleeve is a censored, tongue-in-cheek pornographic photo op. The single kicks off with drum heavy tribal beats and monk-like droning vocals, followed with church organs leading into falsetto vocals, reminding us (in case we have forgotten) just how exciting and progressive The Liars are. Their time in Berlin certainly paid off, working with uberproducer, Gareth Jones, known for his work with Erasure, Nick Cave, Wire, Depeche Mode and The Futureheads. If this track is representative of the upcoming release, then fans who have been waiting for this since 2004's They Were Wrong So We Drowned shouldn't be disappointed.
