Budding indie stars The Comas have become the newest members of the Vagrant Records family, joining the likes of Dashboard Confessional, Senses Fail, The Eels, Alkaline Trio and Paul Westerberg. The band will be entering the studio with producer Bill Racine (Rogue Wave, Mark Gardener) in mid-January to complete their yet-to-be-titled new album. The band’s ambitious new project will be there forth full-length and is scheduled for arrival in summer 2006, with a full North American tour in the works to coincide with the release.
The Comas hail from Carrboro, North Carolina and first formed in 1998. The band’s third album, Conductor, was released domestically on Yep Roc in 2004 and manage to attract the attention of some very respectable press. Notable acclaim from main stream publications like Rolling Stone and Spin have helped boost an awareness of the band’s serious potential. The Comas have been described as the middle ground between indie and mainstream, a perfect blend of pop and aching rock. Stay tuned for more from The Comas in '06.
