Costello's Orchestral Tour Pushed Back, New Album On The Way

Elvis Costello’s recent work with Allen Toussaint is going to be on a new album, The River In Reverse, that is set to hit stores in May through Verve Forecast. The duo worked on the LP in November of last year with Producer Joe Henry in New Orleans. Material from The River In Reverse will include new songs as well as new versions of older Toussaint songs. In addition to the two men, Costello’s band, The Imposters, will be on it as well as several members of Toussaint’s band.

Moreover, Costello’s orchestral tour was pushed back to begin on March 27. Originally the tour was slated to start in January. Steve Nieve, a frequent collaborator with Costello will be featured on the dates along with local orchestras. The special performances will be host to a suite from Costello’s inaugural symphony composition, “Il Sogno” and other material that will be on My Flame Turns Blue that hits stores February 28.
