Last night, Bodog.com rented out the Rainbow Room for some serious schmoozing and boozing to kick off their online poker service. In attendance were plenty of models, mini-celebs (Larenz Tate, we see you!), big celebs (Luke Wilson, we see you!), and the dudes from the Rapture ("NY Excuse" 12" single, we see you!) DJing back in the poker room. Normally we’d be more geeked out about all of that, but word on the inbox was that Bus-A-Bus would make a special appearance, and that kinna filled up our geekery quota for the evening. Flipmode!
As promised, Busta (sans dreads, but rocking an enormous diamond bull's head instead) took the stage at midnight. He started off with “Don’t Cha” (oof!) but then moved into a rotation of classics, from “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See” to “Fire It Up” to “What It Is”. You probably wouldn’t believe us if we told you, “Yo, Busta had a HYPE show at the Rainbow Room!” but dudes - he did a triple rewind on the first verse of “Break Ya Neck” and followed with a brand-conscious toast before "Pass The Courvoisier", what more do you want? To close, Busta did an extended take of his Daft Punk/Swizz Beatz single “Touch It.” Hank Azaria was feelin it, and so were we.
