The Walkmen Finish Third Album, Tour

New York's The Walkmen have completed all work on their third album, according to a post on the band's website. Though a title or track listing has yet to be revealed, we do know that it is slated for an April release via Record Collection. The band is currently on a short, five-date tour testing out the new material in front of an audience. They've already tackled Boston and Burlington, VT, and will play Montreal tonight, followed by Toronto and Buffalo. The band will then likely be in NYC doing press and prepping for a national tour in support of the new album. Their next hometown show won't be until March 19 at Nokia Live with The Pogues.

In other band news, all five members have apparently written a novel called John's Journey that will be finished and published sometime this year. They plan to post some excerpts on their site as soon as they figure out how to do it. Here's the tour dates. We'll keep you posted on the rest.

01.27.06 - Montreal, QC (La Tulipe)
01.28.06 - Toronto, ON (Lee’s Place)
01.29.06 - Buffalo, NY (Mohawk Place)
03.19.06 - New York, NY (Nokia Live w/ The Pogues)
