New York Goes Live From London

Attention: Fans of great British music.

Keep your calendars out to mark down March 21. After you get your dance on at New York City’s All England Club this Thursday, Creative London’s “Live From London” will be happening in New York City. There will be performances by The Rakes, Towers Of London, Plan B and Boy Kill Boy. Creative London is a part of the Mayor’s London Development Agency and their purpose is to develop growth of the creative industries in London, and make sure that London realizes its potential to create jobs across London.

The March 21 throw down will take place at Bowery Ballroom, and Brakes will kick off the daylong event with an in store showcase at Virgin Megastore in Union Square. Brakes will later headline the showcase after party at The Annex with The Young Knives. Other events throughout the day will include a reception and invite-only London music industry master class hosted by Sirius Radio with Andrew Loog Oldham, Alan McGee, and ”Little Steven” Van Zandt.

If you can’t get your British lovin’ booty down to NYC then fear not. MTV2 will be filming “Live From London” for a documentary entitled MTV2 Spanking New Music Week: London On Tour. It will also have clips from and interviews from the coverage of SXSW.

Tickets for Live from London are now on sale at Ticketweb, and the Bowery Ballroom ticket office at the Mercury Lounge. Admittance into the after show party entry will be sold at the door of The Annex. The London Music Industry Master Class and Cocktail Reception hosted by Sirius Satellite Radio will take place at Sirius Satellite Radio and is by invitation only.
