If you are not fucking with My Chemical Romance you’re not getting everything out of life that you could be. The band that saves teenagers in bulk was playing a few “secretive” shows in celebration of their forthcoming DVD because THEY ARE THE BROMANCE AND THAT’S JUST THE KIND OF GIFT THEY GIVE TO EVERYONE.

Yesterday they headlined a SXSW show with re-united Garden State godfathers Lifetime at perhaps THE most appropriately named venue - Emo's. MCR tore through “Thank You For The Venom” and ended their set with “Helena,” which made all the dope boys, tattooed teenagers and everyone else go crazy. And just when you thought it was over, they came back, re-plugged in their thunder brooms and told everyone to talk amongst themselves (“Just sing your favorite Saves The Day song. C’mon, ‘Shoulder To The Wheel’, lets go.”) and launched into a still-being-written new jam called “Bed” (we think) that includes midtempo handclap/stomp-along breaks, a double-time galloping guitar part, and further proof that these guys are going to completely morph into Queen before their day is done.
