Silversun Pickups Show Their Good Samaritan Side

As previously reported, Tripwire (hell, make that Erin Chandler) favorite, Silversun Pickups, are hard at work on their new album that is due this summer. As soon as we have more deets on that, you know you will hear about it here first. However, what you may not know is that their dear friend and Director of Photography for the "Kissing Families" video, Paul Stec, is going through some troubling times.

Paul's five-year-old son, Flyn, was diagnosed with liver cancer and is currently undergoing treatment at Children's Hospital in Los Angeles. Flyn is in need of blood transfusions since he is going through chemotherapy and is O+. If you are in the Los Angeles area and have it in your heart to help out Flyn, or any child in need, please do so by donating blood. You can set up an appointment by calling the Children's Hospital Blood Center at 323-669-2441. They are open 7:30am-5:00pm Monday through Thursday (closed from 1:30-2:30 for lunch) and Friday from 8:00am-1:00pm.

In other Silversun Pickups news, the band is playing this Sunday, April 2, in Los Angeles. It is a benefit show at Spaceland for the Rose Scharlin School with B.R.M.C. also playing. Founded in 1939, the Rose Scharlin School prides itself on being the very first cooperative nursery school in the City of Los Angeles. Doors are at 8pm.
