Ain’t No Such Thing As Halfway Undergrads

Since Blood Money is less than a month away, ‘tis the season for RANDOM MOBB DEEP PR STUNTS. Which explains Prodigy’s surprise appearance – flanked by Tony Yayo – at Columbia University this past Friday.

Although the Infamous were the ones with new albums to push, Tony rocked solo for most of the half-hour set, rolling through “Curious,” a rendition of “Drama Setter” that began with a toast to Em’s marriage (zing!), and “So Seductive” (“The reason I’m a millionaire!” says Yayo), before bringing up Prodigy for “Put ‘Em In Their Place.” The spectacle was a smidge lost on the crowd – who were assembled for the cultural dance competition that proceeded T & P – but if there’s one thing Ivy League coeds can learn to appreciate, it’s the G-G-G-Unit.
