Tokyo Police Club Ink Deal With Paper Bag Records

Canadian indie Paper Bag Records, home to Controller.Controller, Memphis, Magneta Lane, Uncut, The Deadly Snakes (Canada) and more, has inked a deal with Toronto-based quartet, Tokyo Police Club. The band, whose members are all under the legal drinking age, began learning to play music together from scratch at the beginning of high school (so, like 4 years ago). In the short time since, they've made a name for themselves in their hometown with a flurry of up-tempo, ballsy rock & roll songs and an in your face, party-time live show.

Though the band's debut EP, A Lesson In Crime, doesn't have a US release date firmed up yet, Paper Bag head honcho Enrique Soissa said he's planning to put out four limited edition 7" singles prior to the release of the seven-song EP in the US. If I ask him real nice, I'm sure he'll give us a couple to give away right here on Tripwire (stay tuned for that).

In the meantime, he's made two tracks from Tokyo Police Club available for download:

"Cheer It On"
"Nature Of The Experiment"

Tokyo Police Club will be playing three US shows in early May, including a stop in NYC on May 1 at the Mercury Lounge. Check out the full tour details below:
