Flag Day
- story THE FADER
We just got these reissues of Wire’s 154, Pink Flag and Chairs Missing in the mail. And then we did a cartwheel. Pink Flag – a label owned and operated by the band – is now slanging remastered versions of Wire’s vinyl releases (in the OG running order, “no inappropriate extra ‘bonus’ tracks”, they say), along with a limited-edition box set that also includes two live albums recorded at London’s Roxy in 1977. For a generation of scrappies more familiar with Elastica biting Pink Flag’s “Three Girl Rhumba” for “Connection” than the actual Wire original (us included), this is a real treat.
