XL/Beggars Group has corralled Minneapolis' indie rock aces Tapes 'n Tapes and will be re-issuing the band's self-released debut album, The Loon, later this summer. The news was first reported by the St. Paul Pioneer Press two days ago and posted yesterday by the Pitchfork kids, but I figured we should give y'all the heads up just in case you don't subscribe to the national edition of the St. Paul Pioneer Press (which I'm pretty confident does not exist) or read Pitchfork religiously. So tell your friends, Tapes 'n Tapes are no longer free agents.
The band will be playing in Chicago tonight @ Subterranean (I'll be there, woot!) and tomorrow night @ Schubas. They'll then play a couple of home town shows in early May before heading out on the road with another of our favorite young acts, Cold War Kids, in June. You can go here to check out the tour details.
