Here's the hot shit from that crazy thing called the interweb for the week of May 8. I know a lot of you don't have time to scour the interweb, cuz you have, like... jobs and stuff, but don't worry. Somehow I get paid to do this, and even though I'm an only child, I like to share (usually). There's some good shit here, so have a look around.
-Download two hot cover tunes on My Old Kentucky Blog - Jose Gonzalez's band Junip does the Boss' "The Ghost Of Tom Joad" and Editors tackle R.E.M.'s "Orange Crush."
-Download new Muse track ( "Supermassive Black Hole") and the original version of tune Lily Allen sampled on "Knock 'Em Out" on Stereogum (If you don't know who Lily Allen is yet, you can figure that out there too).
-Download new Outkast song ("Mighty O") on Gorilla Vs. Bear.
-Bootleg Mac G6 for $500? Info on Engadget.
-Voxtrot covers Talking Heads, New Order, Felt, Comet Gain, and Blondie. Download all of 'em on Skatterbrain.
-Download live version of Andrew Bird's "Sovay," as performed with My Morning Jacket in Boulder, CO, on rbally.
-Daft Punk are making a weird ass movie with no dialogue called Electroma. Check out some stills of the flick on I Watch Stuff.
-Check out a really cool song ("Don't You Know I Love You") from a guy named Findlay Brown on Music (For Robots).
-Stephen Colbert rips G. W. Bush a new one at White House Correspondents dinner, and it's one of the funniest things I've seen... like, ever. I know this initially went up last week, but it got pulled from YouTube before I got a chance to watch all three parts and I'm pretty sure that some of you met a similar fate. The clip is now showing exclusively on Google Video.
I'm sure there's more, but that's what I liked.
