Weird - Dorm Automation System Featuring Party Mode

During my college dorm days, the "party room" typically just required beer or some kind of booze. Whoever happened to be dating somebody of legal drinking age would sneak in liquor via backpack, hoping the clinking of the bottles wasn't noticeable enough to trigger suspicion by the RA, and that pretty much did it. I guess booze just isn't enough for brainiac students at MIT, which is pretty obvious by this website. A co-worker sent me this link, showing two roommates' multifunction in-dorm automation system, dubbed MIDAS.

While most of the bells and whistles, such as an automatic secure closet door, automatic blinds or the "mood settings" seem rather unnecessary, I have to tip my cap to their party mode. With the push of one red button, their room is transformed into the first dorm rave I have ever seen. The lights dim, laser lights turn on, a fog machine gets to work, a disco ball spins, other random displays go haywire, all along to dance music. This shit is pretty impressive. Maybe I can get these dudes to install a party mode in my cubical. Check out this video of the MIDAS party mode...
