The Inescapable Cage

At this point it's kind of hard to tell if Nicolas Cage's career is in a downturn (The Weather Man, Lord Of War), an upturn (National Treasure, which we'd gladly take over The Da Vinci Code), or stuck in its perpetual state of following respectable work with utter stinkers. Still this much is clear: dude has been all over Apple's movie trailers page over the past month. First came the preview this summer's World Trade Center, then a teaser for next year's comic book adaptation Ghost Rider, and now it's Neil LaBute's remake of The Wicker Man. The original Wicker Man is atrociously great with its mix of creep and camp, but judging by the trailer LaBute is looking to get his Shyamalan on with it. We're intrigued by all three, but totally ready to be disappointed.
