Live – Arctic Monkeys @ Roseland Ballroom | NYC

Story by Rebecca Silverstein
When a band like The Arctic Monkeys cultivates so much hype after only a short time of being in the music circuit, it’s only natural to be a bit skeptical. How can a band, fresh on the touring circuit and all under the age of 21, really be as amazing as the media says they are?
Their first single, “I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor,” made its debut at No. 1 on the British pop charts and since then, the read more »

Eels Continue To Tour

The prolific alt-pop group Eels must really, really, really like being on the road. After hitting the road last year to support their double-disc album Blinking Lights And Other Revelations, which spawned a live album and DVD, they are back at it again. Is home really THAT bad? Frontman E and his supporting cast of musicians will be out and about in Europe for the rest of June and most of July. They return to North American for two weeks worth of dates read more »
Magneta Lane Invade LA Next Week

Sexy Canadian indie rocking sweethearts Magneta Lane will be kicking it with the movie stars and other various celbs next week in the City Of Angels. Supporting their debut album, Dancing With Daggers, Magneta Lane will play two shows – Spaceland on Monday and Knitting Factory on Tuesday. If you haven’t seen these ladies yet, I’d recommend getting your tofu eating, yoga-doing, botox-getting ass over to one of these gigs. Here’s the deets:

Live – Radiohead @ Theater At Madison Square Garden | NYC

Last night my wife and I attended our third (and final) Radiohead concert of their current North American tour. After one night in Philly and two in NYC, I have to applaud Thom Yorke and the rest of the band for keeping their setlists relatively fresh, changing it up just enough each night to keep us very entertained.
The set began with a very nice surprise, “The Gloaming.” The next several songs followed the same set that they have performed the read more »
Live – Foo Fighters @ Apollo Victoria | LON

Story by Gray Shades
In the vortex of the so far short shelf life that is the history of rock ‘n’ roll (it is only 60 years at this point, vs. say Shakespeare, classical music or jazz. Hell, even TV is older), we are living in an age with limited generational superstars. U2 has seized the mantra from the Stones, various bands move in and out in borrowing The Who’s position (Green Day, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, Radiohead), The Velvet Und read more »
Jose Gonzalez New Video… Gorgeous

Thanks to the kids at Pixelsurgeon, I had my first look at Jose Gonzalez’s new video for “Hand On Your Heart” earlier today. The track, which comes from Jose’s recent Stay In The Shade EP, is a Kylie Minogue cover and one of the most beautiful things I’ve heard all year. This new video is equally magical, as traditional Japanese prints spring to life (you’ll see what I mean). Check it out below. I read more »
