Madchester 2006, Vol IV

June 18, 2006

Awesomely blurry and digi Radiohead photo by Brocito, cause Radiohead are awesome and blurry and digi.

Rumors abound here at Bonnaroo: Beck got roughed up by someone (????), the "friends" part of tonight's headliner Phil Lesh & Friends is Young Jeezy and Paul Wall (ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE AT THE ROO)! Don't kill the messengers, we heard it all from the ice cream man anyway.

In case you haven't heard, Radiohead is a many headed monster. Sure there was no access to the photo pit, sure we couldn't get up to the suspended platforms above the stage until the band had nothing left to give but feedback, sure it's hard to see Thom Yorke do the Thom Yorke Wiggle when you're with 80,000 of your closest friends, but none of that mattered. If you are close enough to Radiohead to here the sounds, you're gonna end up dancing to a fuzz bassline and some digital effects. They didn't break out a ton of the new jamz, so we're just waiting around with the punters for the album to appear.

Happy father's day friends, holmies and especially fathers - holler back for more action soon. Note that there will be more from our Madchester 2006 coverage not only in like an hour or two, but also into next week. We've got some ’sclusives coming down the line.
