Chicago's very own Chin Up Chin Up have wrapped up work on their sophomore LP, This Harness Can't Ride Anything. The tracks were recorded by Brian Deck, who has worked with Iron And Wine, Red Red Meat and Modest Mouse. The follow-up to their '04 album, We Should Have Never Lived Like We Were Skyscrapers, was put to tape at Deck's own Engine Studios.
We have a long wait until the new record is in our hands, as the current release date is slated for October 10th via Seattle's Suicide Squeeze. If you want to sample some of the new tunes in a live setting, and have the means to get to Seattle, you can catch Chin Up Chin Up at Suicide Squeeze's 10th Anniversary bonanza. They are performing on June 30 at Neumo's, benefiting the Vera Project (Seattle-based all ages venue), Bailey-Boushay House (AID's Hospice) and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The full line-up for the ten-year birthday bash is as follows:

06.30.06 - The Black Heart Procession, Chin Up Chin Up, Crystal Skulls, The Magic Magicians and Eugene Mirman
