Although fans in North America are out of luck, those in Europe will get a chance to check out new material from Kaiser Chiefs during a handful of shows in August. The band made the announcement in their fan newsletter that they will be "road testing" some new tunes, including "Everything Is Average Nowadays," "Highroyds," "Learnt My Lesson Well" and "Heat Dies Down."
The band also addressed the British tabloid-fueled feud with Kasabian, which they claim is total "nonsense." They said: "Rubbish flies around in the press all the time, but we feel this time we should intervene as this is completely fabricated. Creative journalism at it's worst. We consider Kasabian as friends and have enjoyed their company whenever we've met...it's quite the opposite from what's reported, we have respect for Kasabian and wish them the best of luck with their new record."
Speaking of new tunes, the Kaisers' website doesn't offer much additional information on their own next album, except that it is currently under construction at their rehearsal space in Leeds. Hopefully the new album isn't too far away.
