San Francisco-based quartet Scissors For Lefty’s song “Ghetto Ways” has been stuck in my head ever since our resident music guru maximus Robert English included the track on our “Push Upstairs Podcast .014.” Suffice it to say that I was more than ecstatic when I found out that the band had landed a primo spot opening some dates for the Dirty Pretty Things on their forthcoming US tour.
The band is signed to Rough Trade in the UK. They recently released the “Ghetto Ways” single via that label. As of this moment, there are no plans to release music in the US so you’ll have to buy it as an import. I don’t expect that to last very long though, as this band seems primed for a full-scale take over of this country. Check out our podcast to hear the song, or click the link below to visit their website where they have some snip-its of songs.
If you’re able, GO SEE THIS BAND. They’re playing tonight in SF! And you NYC kids, I KNOW you already have your Dirty Pretty Things tix for their two-night stand at the Bowery. Get there early!
