Brainless EP

Sunny Day Sets Fire is not a Sunny Day Real Estate cover band that moonlights as pyrotechnicians. Instead, they are a group that hails from London and summons the sprits that possess other art pop groups like Flaming Lips, Mercury Rev and Architecture In Helsinki.

The band's history is eclectic, with the four members coming from all areas of the globe. Specifically they used to live in London, Italy and Hong Kong. It is also safe to say that the individuals draw on these influences to create their music. For example, on "Green Clouds," beautiful harmonies are layered on top of an Asian erhu, making Sunny Day Sets Fire rise to the top of the indie crop. On the other end of the spectrum is the first single; "Brainless." It is a bouncy and upbeat tune features a French horn and trumpet. You can't get much happier than that.

With each song clocking in around four minutes, their debut EP is the first taste that Americans will have of the band, and if their future work sounds anything like this then its safe to say we we'll be in for a treat.
