Christmas is almost upon us (have you heard!) and there are still two nights of Hanukkah left, so if you're still searching for gifts for that special slacker in your life, may we suggest a pair of archive-raiders from two of the ’90s' most influential/tragic bands.

Out for the first time on DVD, Nirvana's Live! Tonight! Sold Out! captures the band as it lurched, goofed and pulverized its way across the planet during the height of its success. Uncomfortable with the size of the venues they are playing, Nirvana both subvert and embrace their new arena trappings—on a massive stage in Brazil under a glowing red "Hollywood Rock" sign, Krist and Dave do a bass & drums jam of "Sweet Emotion" before a cross dressing Kurt starts screeching out "Dive."

Sublime, possibly the only band in history where their dog was an equally important member, recently released the career-spanning Everything Under the Sun. The box set gets gnarly with rarities, lost ones, radio sessions, live sets from a backyard somewhere in Orange County, duets with HR & Gwen Stefani and raw MTV News interview footage during the first Warped Tour. Sadly both these bands lost their leaders (directly and indirectly) to heroin—one of them hated shirts and the other one hated life, but both wrote awesome songs. Happy Holidaze!
