If you were like us, you spent the weekend hobnobbing with street art’s reigning sergeants-at-arms—Swoon, Dave Ellis and art collective Faile—at their triple header blamhammy groupshow, The Burning House, at LA’s New Image Art Gallery. Between Faile’s pop-pulpy wheatpaste magnum opii (can you pluralize it like that?), Ellis’ epic, sprawling motion paintings and Swoon’s Benihana-shaming blade work in paper, we were ready to, like, run up on a building with some lip balm and just Go For It.
