The Burlington, Vermont based psych-pop group The Cush have been quietly making fantastic music for well over six years now. I actually became familiar with the band during co-founders Gabrielle and Burette Douglas' earlier Dallas days in the band Buck Jones. With their Texas days behind them, they have evolved The Cush to a full ensemble that fits right in with My Bloody Valentine and a bit of Radiohead.
It has been quite some time since I've gotten an opportunity to see the band live, which is why I am thrilled that they have announced two NYC area performances. The first is this coming Friday at Brooklyn's Union Hall. They will be performing along with The Early Years, making for a great evening of music. Be sure you get there early, as The Cush will go on around 8:15pm.
If you happen to be unfamiliar with the lush pop of this fantastic band, head over to their official website or MySpace page to sample a few of their songs.
