Lemon Jelly's Fred Deaken Prepares Mix CD

The electronic duo Lemon Jelly has remained criminally overlooked here in the US for far too long. These sound architects have been creating some of the most intriguing music in the dance genre for several years now. If you haven't heard Lost Horizons, you've been missing out.

Lemon Jelly member Fred Deakin is giving fans an interesting look at some of his favorite music through the release of his upcoming three-disc mix album. Yes, it is whopping three discs. According to NME, The Triptych will be released in the UK on February 13, featuring ninety tracks ranging from The Jesus & Mary Chain to Steve Miller. Yeah, it is just a bit eclectic. Hearing him mix from Grand Puba's "I Like It" to the Durutti Column's "Madeleine" is worth the price of an import copy!

The design of the packaging was all done by Deakin, which will include a twenty-page booklet with a blurb about why he selected every single track on the mix. When asked about the diversity of his musical selections, he said: "My approach to DJing has always been to push the boundaries of eclecticism as far as possible without breaking the flow. I believe that all music comes from the same source and the artificial pigeonholing of genres breaks music's natural connections, ultimately keeping people separated from each other."

If you have never heard Deaken's mixes before, they are a mind-boggling work of art. This should be no exception. Check out the tracklisting:
