Bloody Rapture
- story THE FADER
The Rapture’s wildly under-appreciated album Pieces of People We Love sounds like some Nile Rodgers-Jellybean Benitez-walk-the-dinosaur shit from our early-MTV rearing. Their website is Nintendo-ish, to say the least. Their videos are vaguely evocative of our days in Underoos. But the logo for their new label Throne Of Blood threw us into a Skinemax vortex faster than you can say “Mom and Dad are asleep.” Imagine it spinning over the name of some random Italian production company’s name (maybe Andruzzi-Roccoforte, Inc.) followed by gauzy images and supersexy dialogue. Ask the Rapture dudes what’s up with the mind games Friday when they play an electronic mini-set at Studio B in Brooklyn to celebrate the label’s launch.
