There is nothing better than a bit of British music gossip to help us get through hump day. Last week Noel Gallagher decided to lash out at Bono and Thom Yorke for their outspoken views on world issues and politics. Are we surprised? Not in the slightest.
In an interview with NME, Gallagher attacked Bono, saying: "Play 'One', shut the fuck up about Africa." As for Yorke, he said: "Thom Yorke sat a piano singing, 'This is fucked up' for half-an-hour. We all know that Mr Yorke. Who wants to sing the news? No matter how much you sit there twiddling, going, 'We're all doomed,' at the end of the day people will always want to hear you play 'Creep'. Get over it." He then added: "I never went to fucking university. I don't know what a paint brush is - I never went to art school."
Ok Mr. Gallagher, that is a bit harsh. Although we didn't expect Yorke to respond to this rubbish, he in fact did on Radiohead's Dead Air Space blog. He ignored most of it, simply commenting on the jab at his art school education. Yorke simply said: "I did. It taught me to respect other artists." Well said!
