Few recording studios have the name recognition and history as the legendary Abbey Road Studios. Music fanatics such as myself have made a pilgrimage to the studios when visiting England, scribbling our own graffiti on the walls that line the front gates. Artists ranging from the Beatles to Radiohead have utilized Abbey Road for their various services, making it an appropriate location for this year's Sound & Vision 2007 auction.
The event will be taking place at Abbey Road on February 26, hosting an exhibition as well as an auction of music memorabilia. All proceeds benefit Cancer Research UK, which is a mighty good cause. According to XFM, the exhibition will include photographs of Paul Weller, Noel & Liam Gallagher, Paul McCartney and many other previously unseen photographs and artwork.
Up for grabs at the auction are Chris Martin's handwritten lyrics to the Coldplay hit "Yellow," a Zuton's pinball machine, items from Jimi Hendrix and many others. This is a really cool event, so our readers in the UK should add this one to their calendars. For more information, check out the links below.
