Austin: the Meat Puppets
- story THE FADER
Last night at the Stereogum party, hosted at The Levi’s/FADER Fort, something
we never even thought to hope to see happened: after eleven years, the
Meat Puppets reunited, with both Curt and Cris Kirkwood on stage
together. It was literally their first show back together, and we were
proud to be there, along with a bunch of bros and gals and the homies
from Ladyhawk and Vietnam, among others. The show was loose in its
utter radness, with Cris switching between bass and banjo, and
everything from “Plateau” to “Lake of Fire” to “Lost” getting pulled
out of the hat. Okay so we just showed our cards – II is definitely
our favorite Meat Pups album, and cot damn was it good to see it go
down live in all its slopped up cowpunk glory, more of which you can check after the jump.
