Austin: Vietnam

March 19, 2007

Saturday's crowd at the Levi's/FADER Fort was swollen by the time Vietnam took the stage, and the buzz in the audience was that a lot of people in attendance were familiar with the band (perhaps due to a certain cover story) but had never seen them live. We've seen the Nam dudes live a couple hundred times it seems, they've never disappointed, and their set in Austin was no different. With that signature stoned sound, they rolled through "Priest Poet & the Pig" and "Toby," before getting all feedback and squall - it turns out dudes have gotten even better since we last caught them in NYC. The Nam dudes have never been scared of a party, so after the set they stuck around and ended up kicking it with a certain Brick City titan.
