Sometimes I am glad that I don't live in the UK. Case in point; Oasis, The Killers and Kaiser Chiefs are set to cover songs from the classic Beatles' album, Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, in honor of the 40th anniversary of the release. There will be other big names covering tracks and they will record it for a BBC2 special that will be aired on June 2 across the pond.
NME is reporting that Razorlight, James Morrison, The Fratellis and Travis are lending their talents and BBC2 claims that Geoff Emerick, the engineer in charge of the original sessions will use the same equipment to record the new versions. While we love some of the bands involved, we have to wonder why some of them are involved. We aren't naming names, but you know who you are.
