Audio: Dizzee Rascal “Hard Back Industry”

April 17, 2007

There's debate around here as to whether this new Dizzee song "Hard Back Industry" posted on his MySpace page is the best new track we've heard so far or just a real solid album cut. Either way it's good and we're posting it for you to decide for yourself. Also gleaned from today's visit to Dizzee Ras on MySpace is the fuschialicious album cover and this choice quote from the Observer Music Monthly explaining the direction of Maths & English: “It started out with a lot of more reflective tunes about how sad shit is and what a fucked up world we live in - because that was kind of where my head was at the time. But then I started listening to a lot of different music - old Outkast stuff ,Young Jeezy, Dem Franchise Boyz, D4L’s “Laffy-Taffy”: that whole Altanta snap thing – and it got me back into the mould of that jump up party shit, so I wanted to make banging tunes – tunes that people can bump to and be ignorant to.” Except "Hard Back" is pure edutainment and leaves us feeling less ignorant. What a failure!
