Gorillaz Throw In The Towel, Become Actors

Damon Albarn has told BBC's Radio 2 today that Gorillaz will not release anymore studio albums. The man of many projects said that he is going to compose a score for a Gorillaz movie that will feature the band, and that will be the final Gorillaz record. Rumor has it that Terry Gilliam will be a part of the project and there is a chance that the characters will not play themselves, rather they will be actors playing other characters.

Albarn told Steve Wright from Radio 2, "We're trying to make a film next, starting in September hopefully. It will be a film score. There won't be another pop record. When we made the first Gorillaz record, we had no idea it was going to be a pop record. You don't make records with that in mind. They become that if the public love them."

Damon commented later in the interview on the on-again/off-again status of Blur saying, "I really don't know. I think it's possible that we might be. But I'm not entirely sure we are."

This leaves us happy in knowing that at least we got the chance to see them live, twice.
