New York Now
- story THE FADER
New York fashion gets pooped on alot for being too commercial, so it’s nice to see that London’s V&A museum is showing love to 20 of the city’s designers, including the swanky likes of Proenza Schouler, Thom Browne and Costello Tagliapietra. New York Fashion Now is a “best of” exhibition, focusing on the most recent golden years (1999-2004) when three-as-four were still weird moochers from the LES known as AsFour, Karen O was jumping around in wacky skeletor creations handmade by Christian Joy and all that boys in Jersey wanted for Christmas was an off-white Sean John velour suit. Our favorite girl, designer Mary Ping –who just decamped to Paris for her Fall ‘07–gets a look in too.
