Golden Goals

Tonight at the 34th Street AMC theater the Tribeca Film Festival presents Christopher Browne's Sons of Sakhnin United, a documentary about Sakhnin, Israel's multi-ethnic soccer club battling for the nation's State Cup. The prominent subject of the film, Abas Suan, an Arab Israeli, was also a key player for Israel's national team during qualification for the 2006 World Cup. They didn't make it, but his status as a national hero was solidified and Sons shows why players like him could have an impact beyond sport.
