The Dallas-based symphonic pop ensemble, The Polyphonic Spree, is back with a new look and a new album. Tim DeLaughter, leader of this large group, has pieced together an eight-minute mashup containing all eleven tracks from The Fragile Army. The robes are gone, now replaced by black army uniforms, and with the new image comes a slightly adjusted sound as well. From the sample we're given by this mash-up, the band has definitely gone from home-brewed experiment to very, very produced ensemble. Sample it for yourself via the link below, which offers both an audio stream as well as an MP3 download.
The Fragile Army will be released on June 19 in the US via TVT Records. They are also hitting the road in May, performing in select cities along the east coast. We do kinda miss the robes.
