Thanks to our reader Adam who emailed us a few hours after A-Trak put us on blast, the world (and Kanye?) shall know the sample Kanye used for Common’s “The Game.” It is Seyfou Yohannes’ “Tezeta” (Amharic for memory or nostalgia but also the term for Ethiopian blues) from Ethiopiques, Volume 10. If you don’t own any of these, close your eyes and pick one. They’re all incredible.
