Fresh off the Summer Jam side stage, Collie Buddz dropped his 420 Mixtape over the weekend. The Bermudan dancehaller’s freestyles over current rap radio instrumentals like “Buddy” and “Pop Lock and Drop It” suffer from a likkle too much smoke inhalation, but all the Collie originals (from his debut LP, out next month) burn real, real brightly. “Blind 2 U” is one of the standouts, as Collie and his vocoder turn a sweet one-drop riddim into a seething send-off to haters, war instigators, and bullshit creators. Tell em why you mad!
