In issue 31’s one-drop reggae spectacular, we described crooner Perfect as master of an “afromantic roots aesthetic,” as embodied by his signature tune “Hand Cart Boy.” Two years later, Mr Perfect is back with the ska-tinged “One Life” on Mafia and Fluxy’s Rocking Time rididm, and while it’s filled with live-right advice instead of sweet come-ons, we’re happy to report that dude’s still got it.
