NY: Harry Allen’s Part of the Permanent Record

DJ Grandmaster Flash and Raheim at the Ritz,
New York City, 1983

Last night, Hip-hop activist and media assassin Harry Allen kicked off his Part of the Permanent Record: Photos from the Previous Century exhibition over at Bill Adler’s Eyejammie gallery. The show assembles Harry’s amazing early photos of the NYC scene including the one above of Flash showing Kanye how to do it. He also has an unparalleled collection of photos of Chuck D looking super young and cool. Not to be missed and runs through August 16th.
