A friend told us The Bourne Ultimatum averages a cut every 9 seconds, but what's misleading about that is that there are stretches of minute-long cuts, especially in the beginning, and then the last hour or so is like a cut every half second, most of which involve Jason Bourne beating the daylights out of someone or driving a car into something. He rides a scooter for a minute, too. With no helmet! We also saw an interview in which the new Mark McGwire version of Matt Damon said they wrote most of the script as they shot it and that the stunt drivers in the New York City chase scene couldn't drive over 35 mph. All of which leads to us congratulating Paul Greengrass for making an insanely entertaining action movie with no CGI, no wires and a kooky screenplay. We saw this last night, did we mention that? Good stuff.
Thumbs Up Bourne’s Ultimatum
