Chioma’s Stylee Fridays
- story THE FADER
I was really really psyched to profile Sika, a line of women’s wear from London a few issues ago, not just because they make the kind bright and breezy pieces I’ve been floating around in all summer (wear a Sika dress and people will stop you in the street), but because Phyllis Taylor, the designer behind Sika is a personal friend of mine. I remember talking fashion with Phyllis over a hot cup of cocoa on a miserable grey day back in London when we were both still in college, so it’s a lovely, warm and fuzzy feeling to see her dresses hanging from the rack at my local boutique in BK. Phyllis is in DC this weekend, showing her line at Runway Africa, a fashion show that throws some well deserved shine on African textiles and design and the proceeds from the event going to charity too.
